Norway. Cold. 20 hours of sunlight. Vikings.... all the things that spring to mind when I think about my prospective exchange (educational holiday). I'm not so sure about the vikings so much now, but I know that it will be both a pleasant climatic and cultural change from Australia. The only things that worry me are the language and the cost of everything, but both will add to the challenge. The thought of seeing Norwegian Fjords and living somewhere that has 20 hours of daylight weight out any negatives!
I am also looking forward to seeing Scandinavian fashion first hand, and while Sweden would be considered the fashion hub of those nations so close to the arctic circle, Norway is bound to flash it's style while I'm there. The thought of bulking up my wardrobe with some unique finds makes me buzz with excitement!
There will be much stress leading up to my departure date, imminent uni exams looming, but with a very effective incentive to get me through, I will be on that plane within weeks, Icelandic volcanoes permitting.
